THUNDER BAY -- Business owners, shareholders and employees came together Thursday to talk about co-ops and credit unions.

Thunder Bay is the host city for a conference on business co-operatives.

The event, called Co-op Connections is focused on strengthening ties between regional co-ops.

Experts also spoke about developing business succession plans, and retaining business.

One of the discussions centred on developing co-ops in Aboriginal communities.

Organizer Judy Nelson Childs says awareness is an important part of their work.

The Thunder Bay conference is the second of six.  Additional conferences will happen in March, in Sudbury, St. Catharines, London, and Toronto.
