THUNDER BAY -- Raeanne Gaudette now has some extra incentive to plan her wedding.

Gaudette was one of 10 women who dove into cake wedding cake but was the lone bride to emerge with the hidden ring, winning an $8,000 wedding package at the 12th annual Thunder Bay Wedding Show on Sunday.

“I’ll probably get the motivation to start planning my wedding,” she said, adding she has been engaged for more than four years. “I have two kids and I’ve been too busy.”

The competition concluded the show, which was held at the Victoria Inn and featured about 76 different exhibitors.

Andre Fitzgerald, show manager, said more than 260 brides came through to check out the various offerings.

The exhibitors covered all aspects of planning a wedding.

“A bride or groom looking to book a wedding for the upcoming year or the following year and looking to have beauty services, hotels or venues, music and DJ services, videography, accessories, decorations can find all that year at one location,” he said.

In addition to the displays and competition, there were also fashion shows and hair and makeup demonstrations.
