THUNDER BAY -- Bruno Niederer has always emphasized a commitment to excellence.

Late last month the owner of Performance Kia and his staff were recognized for their efforts, earning a prestigious Platinum Award that recognizes the top performing Kia dealer around the world.

Niederer, whose dealership is rapidly closing in on its 15th anniversary, said they got the nod based on a number of key indicators and customer feedback.

“We are very fortunate to get this award here at Performance Kia,” said Niederer on Thursday. “There are 72 different ratings for your dealership, which includes our involvement in Thunder Bay, our customer satisfaction index. As well, on top of the CSI, it measure our dealership presence, our technicians and our market share here in Thunder Bay.”

Niederer said over the past 15 years his dealership has sold more than 5,500 cars in the Thunder Bay market and into Northwestern Ontario.

Only four Platinum Prestige awards were given this year in Canada by the South Korean-based automobile manufacturer.

“Two of the dealers received the very top award, which is the Turtle Shell Boat,” Niederer added. “It’s a symbol of strength and power. Obviously Korea goes back to the 16th century, so it’s very impressive.”
Niederer added he couldn’t do it alone.

“Obviously the entire team is part of this. I’m just the person at the top here and without a good people, nothing happens, nothing goes on,” he said.

Company officials say the award was well deserved.

“Bruno and his entire team has worked tirelessly to not only achieve this award, but to serve customers in the Thunder Bay area at the highest level,” said M.K. Kim, president and CEO of Kia Canada Inc.
