THUNDER BAY -- Officials from United Way were offering tours at locations all around Thunder Bay Thursday to show local fundraising organizers how their donations make a difference.

The United Way helps keep numerous organizations and programs running, which all have an impact on the community.

One of the stops on the tour was the Thunder Bay Counselling Centre. United Way representatives and staff at the centre spoke about the benefits of the programs they offer because of the United Way.

Campaign volunteers for organizations throughout the city took part in the tour, to get a first-hand look at where their donations are going.

Counselling Centre Executive Director Nancy Chamberlain said it's important to showcase the work that's being done to help support the effort the employee donation chairs put into the fundraising campaign.

The United Way fall campaign goal is more than $2.6 million.
