THUNDER BAY - Its official, the 76th Finn festival is underway in Thunder Bay.
It was a full house for the opening ceremonies this afternoon at the Finlandia Club on Bay Street.
The event kicked off a weekend of activities in the city, and attendees were given a sampling of things to see and hear.
Officials from the federal and provincial governments were on hand as well as a special guest the Finnish Ambassador to Canada.
The Grand FinnFest continues all day Saturday at the Finlandia, with sporting events and the wife-carrying contest on Sunday afternoon at Tapiola Park.
