THUNDER BAY - Some high school students are getting the chance to gain extra credits and some college skills through the Summer CLASS program.

Over 140 students are taking part in the Summer Centre for Learning and student success program.

It's a partnership between Lakehead public schools, the Catholic board and Confederation College.

Summer CLASS is a way students can gain their lost high school credits or get a head start when they get to college.

Victoria Zieroth is going into grade 11 this fall at St. Ignatius and wanted to gain some extra credits along with some new cooking skills.

Summer CLASS was launched in 2013. Since then, the student numbers have doubled.

The program wrapped up on Friday.
