THUNDER BAY - Residents of a southside townhouse complex hit the basketball court Friday, to raise money to host a special day for the children in their neighbourhood.

The adults of Limbrick Place participated in a basketball tournament Friday afternoon in hopes of raising about $200 to rent a bouncy castle for the children of the community to enjoy.

These townhouses have dozens of children.

The idea arose after local resident Amy Manning hosted a birthday party and rented a bouncy castle.

After the party, she decided to let the children of the community play.

With so many children wanting to bounce, and only an hour left on the rental not everyone had the chance.

Now Manning wants to make sure the children know that the adults in the community want to give them a fun day.

This fundraising event was put on in partnership with The Multi-Cultural Association who donated snacks and drinks for a concession stand to help raise more money.
