THUNDER BAY -- A local family is helping show people how their eggs get to the breakfast table.

Vanderwees Farm is one of 14 family farms in the province taking part in the Who Made Your Eggs Today? campaign.

"It's an opportunity for us to let the consumer know what we do, where we are and how we process the eggs," said Bruce Vanderwees during a phone interview with CKPR Radio.

"Nowadays there's a big disconnect and that's part of the program itself -- just to bring people back to the farm and let them know what's going on at the farm."

The family processes nearly 30,000 eggs a day and close to 90 per cent of its product is used in Thunder Bay.

Vanderwees eggs are served at several restaurant across the city and at Lakehead University.
