Highway crash near Hearst kills Thunder Bay man

A 24-year-old Thunder Bay man is dead following a Highway crash near Hearst Sunday afternoon. OPP officers with the Hearst detachment say the crash took place on Highway 11, and led to a road closure that lasted about 10 hours.

OPP officers with the Hearst detachment say the crash took place on Highway 11, and led to a road closure that lasted about 10 hours.

Police say the man, identified as Patrick Quessy-Briere, was driving a pickup truck when it’s believed he crossed the centre line and sideswiped a tractor trailer. The truck then collided head on with a second transport truck.

The driver of the transport truck suffered non-life threatening injuries. And injured female passenger from Quessy-Briere's vehicle also remains in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
