With their contract up May 31, Bombardier employees are ready to meet with company officials at the bargaining table.
Unifor Local 1075 president Dominic Pasqualino says they haven't started official talks yet, but have made their intentions to start negotiations know.
"At the end of the day our goal is to have a good contract that's fair on both sides and to do it as soon as possible," he said.
The union represents about 1,100 employees at the local plant and Pasqualino said they want to ensure they maintain benefits and pensions.
They'd also like to see a slight wage increase in accordance with inflation.
"We wouldn't be looking to go backwards," said Pasqualino.
