Police are looking for the driver of a sedan involved in a crash that left one person injured Monday evening.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers say the crash took place at about 6:45 p.m. at the corner of May Street and Victoria Avenue.

Police say a silver Chrysler sedan driven by a man was heading west on Victoria Avenue when the driver went through a red light at a high rate of speed. The driver of the sedan struck a southbound pick-up truck.

The crash pushed the pick-up truck into a building on the southwest corner of the intersection.

Both vehicles sustained major damage.

The male driver of the truck was taken to the hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

Police are now asking the public for assistance in locating the driver and passenger of the sedan involved in the crash.

The driver is described as being about six-feet tall and 250 pounds, between the ages of 25- and 35-years-old with short hair. He wore a grey hoodie at the time of the incident.

The passenger of the vehicle, also a male, is simply described by witnesses as being smaller than the driver and also wearing a grey hoodie and black jacket.

Police say investigators want to speak to any witness that may have information about the events of the collision or the identity of the occupants of the sedan.

If you have any information about the incident, or suspected driver and passenger of the sedan, contact Const. Vincent at 684-1200 or the Thunder Bay Police Service’s traffic unit.
