THUNDER BAY -- An OPP officer in the city has been charged by the service's Professional Standards Bureau.
Det.-Const. Rory Thompson was arrested Tuesday and faces eight counts of theft under $5,000 along with a single count of fraud.
Sgt. Shelley Garr said the charges stem from incidents between October 2012 and this March.
But she would not provide details about where or who the money was allegedly stolen from.
Thompson has now been released from custody.
He's been suspended with pay from the police force and will appear in court in July.
