THUNDER BAY -- Construction season is about to hit May Street as Phase 1 of planned reconstruction is set to start at the end of the month.
The project will include new sidewalks, street lights, sewer and water mains.
City of Thunder Bay engineer Pat mauro said a bike lane will not be added at this time, although the east side of the street will lose some on-street parking.
“There are areas just north of Finlayson Street and south of Dease Street that do accommodate parking on the east side of the road, and those will certainly be removed,” Mauro said in an interview with CKPR Radio Wednesday.
The $2.2 million contract was awarded by council this week.
