SIOUX LOOKOUT, Ont.  -- One person escaped serious injuries in a plane crash north of Sioux Lookout.

The Transportation Safety Board says it happened around 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Regional Manager Peter Hildebrand says the pilot of the Super Cub plane was in the area picking up minnows from area lakes when the crash occurred.

The aircraft's emergency beacon was set off, and a Hercules search plane located it with help from an Armed Forces aircraft, which was in the area training students when the crash occurred.

An MNR helicopter picked up the pilot, and transported him to hospital in Dryden with minor injuries.
