THUNDER BAY -- The area’s unemployment picture has improved to start the summer.
According to new data from Statistics Canada, the Thunder Bay area featured an unemployment rate of 5.2 per cent in June.
That’s an improvement from the 5.8 per cent Statistics Canada had reported for this area in May.
Thunder Bay sits below the national average, which was 7.1 per cent for June. Meanwhile, it is among the lowest unemployment rates compared to other urban Ontario area’s.
