Trio arrested after string of Kenora break-ins

KENORA, Ont. -- Provincial police have charged three people in connection with a number of reported break and enters. Officials with the Kenora detachment of the OPP say they received reports on Monday just before 1 p.m.

KENORA, Ont. -- Provincial police have charged three people in connection with a number of reported break and enters.

Officials with the Kenora detachment of the OPP say they received reports on Monday just before 1 p.m. that a home in the Lakeside area had been broken into. Police say unknown suspects had forced entry into the home and stole property, including cash, alcohol and electronics.

Two more break-ins were reported on Wednesday just before 11:30 p.m. and after midnight on Thursday.

Police say suspects had broken into a shed in Lakeside and attempted to break into a home in the north end of the city. The suspects were forced to flee from the home after the owner woke up.

Police officers then attended the Lakeside location and found a female suspect at the scene. 

As a result of this investigation, 30 year old Debralee McKay of Kenora has been charged with possession of property bbtained by crime under $5000,  and three counts of failing to comply with undertaking.

She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

While officers were investigating, two other suspects were located in the area. 

They were found to be in possession of property from the Sept. 1 break in. 

They were arrested and as a result 23-year-old Naiche Keesic, and 18-year-old Rochelle Kokopenance, both of Kenora, have been charged with possession of stolen property under $5000.

They have been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The investigation is continuing.
