NIPIGON, Ont. -- A 19-year-old man is facing charges of attempted murder after a domestic assault earlier this week.
In a media release the OPP said the suspect allegedly repeatedly assaulted the 17-year-old victim in a Nipigon residence on Thursday night and fled before police arrived.
The suspect was located by Nipigon OPP just before 4 p.m. Friday afternoon.
The victim was taken to hospital following the assault.
Along with attempted murder, the suspect is also charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, two counts of uttering threats, overcome resistance by attempting to choke, suffocate or strangle and failure to comply with probation.
The name of the accused, who is scheduled to appear in court in Thunder Bay on Tuesday, is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim
