THUNDER BAY -- Resolute Forest Products is holding its official inauguration of the new wood pellet plant at its local sawmill Tuesday.
The facility began operating last month, creating a dozen new jobs.
Fifty-thousand metric tonnes of pellets will be produced annually with a contract in place to provide 45,000 tonnes a year to the Atikokan Generating Station.
The company says it is also working with Fort William First Nation to look at marketing pellets to both commercial and residential customers in the region.
