THUNDER BAY -- Three people charged in connection with a 2014 murder case appeared in court Friday morning.

THUNDER BAY -- Three people charged in connection with a 2014 murder case appeared in court Friday morning.

Carl Spencer Rae, Becky Mamakwa and Kyle Stoney, who all face second-degree murder charges in the July death of 52-year-old Christopher Adams, had their case heard at the Thunder Bay Courthouse.

Rae and Mamakwa were arrested shortly after the alleged attack on Adams, which occurred on July 1 outside city hall on the corner of May Street and Donald Street.

Adams died in hospital on July 8.

Shortly after the incident police said they believed four people were involved in the incident, with robbery believed to be a motive.

Stoney was the third suspect to be charged in connection with the case following his arrest on Nov. 17.

His lawyer, George Joseph, told the court he needed time to review the disclosure.

Rae and Stoney remain in custody. Mamakwa had previously been released on bail.

The next court date for the three has been scheduled for Jan. 16.
