THUNDER BAY – About 1,600 customers south of the city are spending their Friday afternoon in the dark.
That’s the number of people impacted by a Hydro One outage, which is affecting areas including Thunder Bay, Oliver Paipoonge and O’Connor.
The outage, which is reportedly a result of an equipment failure, began at 11:53 a.m.
The utility estimates power will be restored around 4 p.m.
