THUNDER BAY -- A would-be robber's getaway plan did not work as well as it was drawn up.

Police arrested a 22-year-old city man shortly after he robbed the Syndicate Avenue Mac's location at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday night, chasing him into a nearby house.

The suspect entered the store and threatened the clerk with a knife and left with an undisclosed amount of money.

The employee at the store was not injured and called police.

Officers responded quickly and saw the suspect fleeing the scene on foot and pursued him into a Cameron Street residence where he was arrested.

The suspect is scheduled to attend court on Sunday and faces charges of robbery, breach of probation and resisting arrest.
