THUNDER BAY -- A taste of Northern Ontario winter is scheduled to arrive in this city shortly after Christmas.
According to Environment Canada, the soggy and mild spring-like weather currently touching down in Thunder Bay is expected to continue through Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
A slightly cooler Boxing Day will come with a of -6C high and snow.
“Then it’s really into the weekend that we finally start to see a return of more seasonal temperatures,” said Environment Canada’s Geoff Coulson. “Actually, we’ll see a bit more in the way of sunshine as well.”
The long-range forecast shows a low of -12C Friday night into Saturday, with a low of -18C Saturday into Sunday and -22C Sunday into Monday.
Saturday through Monday is currently showing a mix of sun and clouds with no significant precipitation.
