THUNDER BAY -- Priscilla Thomas will stand trial for second-degree murder in the stabbing death of a local man.

Thomas was committed to trial on the murder charge on Dec. 18 after a preliminary hearing and will next appear in court on Jan. 26, 2015.

She is charged in connection with the death of 35-year-old Jeffrey Munroe on Jan. 25.

At that time, police said the investigation into the incident at an apartment building on the corner of Kingsway Avenue and Walsh Street revealed a domestic altercation had occurred between Thomas and Munroe, who lived together.

The altercation escalated and Munroe was stabbed. Alcohol was also a factor.

Munroe was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

None of the allegations against the accused have been proven in court.
