OPP officer enters guilty plea in fraud case

THUNDER BAY -- A local OPP officer has pleaded guilty to a charge of fraud under $5,000. Det.-Const. Rory Thompson was arrested in May 2014 and charged with eight counts of theft under $5,000 along with a single count of fraud.

THUNDER BAY -- A local OPP officer has pleaded guilty to a charge of fraud under $5,000.

Det.-Const. Rory Thompson was arrested in May 2014 and charged with eight counts of theft under $5,000 along with a single count of fraud.

On Monday at the Thunder Bay Courthouse, Thompson entered a guilty plea to a single charge of fraud under $5,000 for using an OPP credit card to purchase gasoline, fuel, parts and vehicle servicing for his personal vehicle between June 2012 and March 2014.

Thompson was remanded to March 10 for sentencing.

He remains suspended from duty with pay.
