THUNDER BAY – A two-person race to represent the Liberals in a bid to win the Thunder Bay-Rainy River riding might soon have a third contender.

According to a Facebook post by former mayoral candidate Shane Judge, Trinity United Church minister Randy Boyd intends to join Georjann Morriseau and Vince Riccio in the nomination contest.

Boyd also serves as a lecturer at Lakehead University.

Riccio, a business manager and former city council candidate, announced his candidacy on Friday.

Morriseau, the chief of Fort William First Nation, announced her bid last week.

A date has not yet been set for the Liberals to declare a challenger to incumbent NDP MP John Rafferty. Moe Comuzzi-Stehmann, who finished second in the 2011 election, will again be the Conservative candidate.
