Pickle Lake woman charged with second-degree murder

PICKLE LAKE, Ont. – A Pickle Lake woman has been charged with second-degree murder following the death of a 50-year-old man. Officials with the OPP say officers responded to a report of a non-responsive man at about 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan.

PICKLE LAKE, Ont.  – A Pickle Lake woman has been charged with second-degree murder following the death of a 50-year-old man.

Officials with the OPP say officers responded to a report of a non-responsive man at about 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8. The man was located at a home on Lakeview Crescent in the community of Pickle Lake.

Both police and ambulance attended the scene. The man was later pronounced dead.

Police say the man was identified as 50-year old David  Muckuck, of Pickle Lake.

A post mortem examination took place in Thunder Bay on Jan. 9.

As a result of further investigation, on Jan.  29 police arrested 30-year old Deborah Muckuck,  of Pickle Lake, on a charge of second-degree murder.

The Pickle Lake OPP and the OPP North West Region Crime Unit under the direction of Det.-Insp. Peter Loree of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch  are continuing the investigation.
