One year later, Rafferty calls for reversal of Veterans Affairs office closures

A local MP is calling out the federal government on the one-year anniversary of the closures of nine Veterans Affairs offices across Canada, including one in Thunder Bay.

A local MP is calling out the federal government on the one-year anniversary of the closures of nine Veterans Affairs offices across Canada, including one in Thunder Bay.

John Rafferty (NDP, Thunder Bay-Rainy River), says in a release the Conservative government is failing to meet the needs of the men and women who served the country in times of war.

“Here in thunder Bay, veterans and their families are feeling the effects of losing their local office,” Rafferty said.
“Quality of, and access to, care has suffered. The government needs to reverse this foolish decision.”
