THUNDER BAY -- The local chapter of the Guardian Angels has a new place to call home.

The volunteer group met Thursday evening for a public interest meeting for the first time at their new clubhouse on May Street.

Members gathered for an information session as well as to help out with the cleanup of the building on May Street. Guardian Angels Director of Canadian operations Ian Hodgkinson  brought  the idea of having a Thunder Bay Chapter forward several months ago, and has quickly gained community support.

Hodgkinson says he is working toward completing a business plan for city officials, the Chief of the Fort William First Nation, and the Chief of the Thunder Bay Police Service.

He says now that the charter has a place to call home, the organization will continue to grow.

Hodgkinson says he has big plans for the new club house, adding that once the place is cleaned up, it will be open to the public seven days a week.
