Southside store robbed Wednesday evening (UPDATE)

THUNDER BAY -- City police are investigating a Simpson Street convenience store robbery. Thunder Bay Police Service officials say the Mac’s convenience store was robbed at about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday.

THUNDER BAY -- City police are investigating a Simpson Street convenience store robbery.

Thunder Bay Police Service officials say the Mac’s convenience store was robbed at about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say a masked man entered the store and demanded money from the employee while threatening him with a syringe.

The suspect left the store with some cash, got into the passenger side of a small dark car and fled the area down McKenzie Street.

The 29-year-old clerk and two customers that were at the store at the time of the incident were not injured.
 

Police say witnesses describe the suspect as being six-feet-one-inch tall with a thin build. He wore all black clothing including shoes, pants, gloves and a hoodie at the time of the incident.

His face was concealed with a black and white bandana.
