CN Rail train derails near Hornepayne, line reopened Friday morning (UPDATE)

CN Rail crews were busy dealing with a train derailment about 100 kilometres east of Hornepayne Thursday. The cars went off the track at around 6:30 a.m. and the line was re-opened at aout 4 a.m. Friday.

The cars went off the track at around 6:30 a.m. and the line was re-opened at aout 4 a.m. Friday. 

The westbound train lost its rear 16 cars, most of which were empty tanker cars which had been carrying crude oil or gasoline. 

CN officials say there are no fire, leaks, spillage of product or injuries.  

CN crews are remaining on site to ensure there are no environmental issues and are working to return the track to service.
