A second day of searching both on the ground and in the air has not turned up any new information in the disappearance of 42-year-old Terry Brasseur.
Ontario Provincial Police search teams are concentrating their efforts on a wooded area off Highway 17, just west of the Highway 102 junction.
Const. Diana Cole of the OPP said the OPP helicopter arrived on scene on Wednesday afternoon and spent about five hours conducting an aerial search, assisting officers on the ground.
It was back in the air again on Thursday.
“They’ve been searching all day. We have officers that are out in police vehicles as well as all-terrain vehicles,” Cole said.
“They’ve been searching the area roadways.”
The search is expected to continue until dusk, and Cole added she expects it to last for at least a few more days before being called off, if Brasseur isn’t located.
The Thunder Bay man was last seen on April 16 and police began looking for him two days later.
He was driving a 2013 Ford F150 XTR with oversize tires and a lift kit, license plate number AA5 4777.
He was last seen in the Academy Drive area wearing shorts, a T-shirt and a ball cap.
Brasseur's parents, Dan and Cathy Reinhold, said they're appreciative of the efforts of both the city police and the OPP and are asking anyone travelling on the bush roads anywhere between Silver Falls, Raith and Kashobowie, to keep a lookout for their son's white Ford pickup truck.
