The Lakehead Thunderwolves have landed former OHL forward Samuel Schutt.

The Palmer Rapids, Ont. native split his major junior career between the Sudbury Wolves and Kinston Frontenacs.

The 5-foot-10 21-year-old right-winger scored 26 goals for Kingston in 64 games in 2013-14 and 16 more in his final campaign.
In five seasons and 319 games, Schutt scored 66 goals and added 68 assists.

“I'm excited about furthering my education at Lakehead and becoming a member of the Thunderwolves,” he said in a release.
“ I’m also eager to experience living in Thunder Bay because I think it’s a great city.”

Schutt is the nephew of former NHLer Rod Schutt, who spent time with Montreal and Pittsburgh in the 1970s and 1980s.
