Weather delays have pushed back the start of construction on the Harbour Expressway between Highway 11/17 and Golf Links Road.

The three-phase project was originally scheduled to begin Monday morning.

During stage one, traffic will only be permitted travelling eastward, with westbound lanes closed.

Phase 1 work is expected to last two weeks.

During the second stage, an eastbound lane will be closed, with all other lanes open, a one-week phase. Finally, in the final stage, all eastbound lanes will be closed, with westbound lanes open to traffic.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area if possible and use caution while safety crews are on site.
