Work began Monday morning to rehabilitate and upgrade the rail crossing between Waterloo Street and Kingsway Avenue, leaving that section of the busy thoroughfare closed for approximately a week.

City officials late last week cautioned the construction schedule is subject to change, depending on weather and other factors that might arise.

Drivers are asked to use alternate routes and those travelling in the area are asked to use extra caution and obey all posted signage.
