Home break-in ends with homeowner pinning down one of four suspects, 22-year-old stabbed

Thunder Bay Police received a 911 call at 2:34 a.m. on September 1, 2015 for a break & enter in progress in a Clarkson Street home.

When patrol officers arrived at 2:38 a.m. they took custody of a suspect that was being pinned down on the back deck by the 54 year old male owner of the home.

Apparently the homeowner and his wife were woken by screams for help from their 22 year old son who was in the basement.

When they arrived in basement they observed four individuals dressed all in black with their faces covered that were struggling with their son.

Three of the suspect ran out of the house being chased by the homeowner. The fourth individual was still in the home and struggled with the son who was stabbed in the process. This individual was tackled to the ground and held until police arrived.

The 22 year old male victim was taken to the hospital for treatment and has since been released.

A 21 year old female, Woodley Paul-Hector of Ottawa was arrested and escorted to the Balmoral Police Station. She was charged with:

. Breach & Enter
. Assault with a Weapon
. Disguise with Intent
. Breach or Probation
. Breach of Recognizance

She appeared in court this morning and has been remanded until a court appearance tomorrow.

Detectives with the TBPS Criminal Investigation Unit have been following up this incident and believe it to a targeted incident. The investigation is continuing.
