THUNDER BAY -- The Savour Superior Food and Drink Festival was an autumn hot ticket in more ways than one.

There were times the Coliseum building at the CLE grounds could barely handle the crowds as more than 2,500 people passed through on Friday and Saturday.

Attendance at the second annual event exceeded its inaugual year but held the same packed atmosphere as patrons sampled food and drink in the lively atmosphere. Highlights included Loon Vodka from Hearst and the Lake of the Woods Brew Company from Kenora.

"I love creating events that bring people together for the community," said event organizer Charla Brown.

"People make their way through and find something to eat and drink, and visit with their friends and socialize. They see people they haven't seen forever. Then we're done at 10 and they can continue on and spend their Saturday night."

All proceeds will be donated to the United Way and the Regional Food Distribution Association.
