THUNDER BAY – The province has reached an agreement with the union representing about 35,000 public servants.
The Ontario government issued a media release Tuesday afternoon announcing a tentative agreement had been struck with the Ontario Public Service Employees Union.
The media release says the “outcome is net-zero” for the deal but does not provide any further details.
The deal includes the central collective agreement and the unified collective agreement that applies to all except corrections workers.
The province is still negotiating with the correctional bargaining unit.
The union had been without a contract since Dec. 31, 2014.
The agreement still needs to be ratified by both sides, a process that is expected to take the next several weeks.
