THUNDER BAY -- Gas prices are holding steady in the city, despite an apparent freefall at gas bars in Fort William First Nations.

According to recent reports from Ontariogasprices.com, an online gas price watchdog, the per-litre price at some gas bars in Fort William First Nations were as low as 85 cents.

The lowest reported price was at K&A Variety and Gas Bar, which boated the 85-cents-a-litre price, while Bannon’s Gas Bar and Chapman’s reported prices of 87.5 and 89.9-cents-per-litre respectively Wednesday morning.

K&A’s price was the second lowest reported in the province as of Wednesday morning.

The price jumps once you get to pumps in the city.

The lowest recorded price at city gas stations Wednesday morning was at The Superstore, where $1.12-per-litrre was the cost of regular gas.

Other local gas bars featured prices between $1.14 to $1.19.
