THUNDER BAY – Police have charged Kimberly Fox with second-degree murder in the death of a 40-year-old woman at a John Street home.
The Thunder Bay Police Service issued a media release on Thursday morning announcing the charge against the 36-year-old in the killing of Charlotte Hudson on Wednesday morning.
A neighbor called emergency services to a home on the 900 block of John Street around 10 a.m. When paramedics arrived they immediately called police.
A 34-year-old man also suffered injuries at the residence and was taken to hospital with significant injuries. Fox has also been charged with aggravated assault.
Police said the victims were all known to each other and alcohol was a contributing factor.
Fox was arrested Wednesday afternoon and remains in custody. Her next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 2.
Fox had previously been charged with murder and later pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in connection with the death of 28-year-old Moses Kakekagumick, her boyfriend at the time, who died of pneumonia nearly three weeks after being assaulted on Dec. 29, 2012 and dragged outside into the snow.
In January 2015 the court ruled she acted in self-defence and she was released on time served and 18 months of probation.
