UPDATE: Police investigating Intercity area sudden death of 28-year-old woman

THUNDER BAY – Police are investigating a sudden death of a 28-year-old female along the Neebing Floodway bike path on the southeast side of the CN train trestle.

Police say a woman in medical distress was located in the city’s Intercity area at about 8 a.m. Tuesday morning in the area of the bridge, which is located just west of Memorial Avenue.

The woman was transported to hospital, where she was pronounced dead later in the morning

Thunder Bay Police Service officers have cordoned off the bridge, with multiple units on scene as of late afternoon.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted on Wednesday in Toronto.
