THUNDER BAY -- The annual Key Performance Indicators have been released for colleges around Ontario.

For Confederation College, that’s good news. The new KPI ranks the local college among the best in the province.

Confederation scored above the provincial average in four out of five categories in the KPI survey of the 2014-15 school year.

In the categories for graduate employment rate and employer satisfaction rate, Confederation scored slightly above the provincial averages.

And for graduate satisfaction, the local college scored exceptionally well, at nearly 87 per cent compared to 80 per cent for Ontario.

The only category where Confederation did not score well was for its graduation rate, which sits at 64.8 per cent.

College President Jim Madder says there needs to be more funding available for second-year students.

Madder adds that the college is looking at ways to better schedule courses to make it possible for students to work and get an education at the same time.
