THUNDER BAY – Ontario Provincial Police officers have found the body of a 55-year-old woman who was missing in Sleeping Giant Provinical Park.
The OPP found Thunder Bay's Dawn Fors deceased at 10:55 a.m. Saturday after a 24-hour search.
Fors was last seen at approximately 9:30 a.m. Thursday when she ventured out onto the Thunder Bay Lookout Trail in the park.
Officers from Thunder Bay OPP, OPP North West Region Emergency Response Team, OPP Canine Unit, the OPP Marine Unit as well as a Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry helicopter conducted the search.
A post mortem examination will be conducted over the coming days and the investigation is ongoing.
