THUNDER BAY – A 19-year-old woman remains in the hospital with serious injuries following a violent domestic dispute Sunday evening.
Officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service say officers were called to the 400 block of Dalhousie Drive just after 7 p.m. Sunday. Officers received reports of a violent assault via a 911 call.
That call indicated a woman could be heard in the area calling out for help.
Officers found a 19-year-old woman with serious injuries at the scene.
A 20-year-old man was located in the area and taken into custody. The suspect was charged with aggravated assault and remains in police custody.
The woman was transported to the hospital, where she remains.
Police say the victim and accused were in a domestic relationship. As a result the male suspect is not being named to protect the identity of the victim.
