THUNDER BAY – City hall will remain the south core transit hub.
City council on Monday ratified its decision to keep the once temporary solution following some debate in council chambers.
One amendment, tabled by Neebing Coun. Linda Rydholm, proposed that administration find financial resources to improve security around the perimeter of city hall.
Keeping city hall as a transit hub passed by a slim margin at the committee of the whole meeting two weeks ago. With two councillors absent during that meeting, its ratification Monday was not a sure thing.
The previous committee of the whole meeting saw some opposition from area businesses, but mostly received positive feedback from stakeholders.
