KENORA – Three Kenora men face several drug charges after crystal meth was seized during an investigation in the Northwestern Ontario community.
Ontario Provincial Police, in a release issued on Friday afternoon, say they stopped a vehicle on June 21 at about 3 p.m., leading to the arrest and search of both the driver and passenger. Both were allegedly found to be in possession of small amounts of methamphetamine.
A third male was arrested on the scene and a search warrant was executed for a Keewatin residence, where police say they recovered 96 milligrams of methamphetamine and other items used in the drug trafficking trade.
Police estimate the value of the seized drugs at $2,900.
A 34-year-old man faces two counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking and trafficking in a Schedule I Substance – methamphetamine. He’s remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
A 27-year-old man was charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance and failing to comply with a probation order.
A 45-year-old man was charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance.
The latter two men have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court next on July 28.
