(Dryden, ON.) –On June 27, 2016 members of the Dryden Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received information from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in regards to a wanted person that was possibly in the Dryden area and travelling with a female companion.
Dryden OPP located the male and female on Highway 17, Southworth Township.
The suspect ,a 32-year-old Alberta man, was wanted by the Provost, Alberta RCMP for multiple offences which included assault with a weapon, pointing of a firearm, forcible confinement, uttering threats, and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, possession of a restricted firearm and four counts of failing to comply with conditions.
Dryden OPP officers arrested the man for failing to comply with a recognizance contrary to Section 145(3) of the Criminal Code.
The suspect was held for a bail hearing and will appear in Dryden court on June 28, 2016.
The suspect will be returned to Provost, Alberta RCMP on the outstanding warrants after appearing on local charges.
