Magic, rides, petting zoos and a smoke free atmosphere – the CLE is bringing back the fan favourites for this year’s fair.

This summer, the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition is celebrating its 126th anniversary from Aug. 10 to Aug. 14 at the CLE Family Fair. Details of the fair were announced Tuesday morning at the CLE Cardinal room.

Fair chair Basil Lychowyd said a lot of the more popular events will be returning this summer, including the rides, live performances, cooking shows and of course the petting zoo.

“We are catering to the needs of Thunder Bay,” Lychowyd said.

Throughout the week, the CLE grounds will host a variety of, cooking shows, live entertainment and a Special Needs Day in support of Operation Smile, which provide free admission to those in need.

With the dollar being low, the main stage feature all Canadian bands such as Tourist Bureau, Green-River Revival and an Eagles cover band.

Children will have an opportunity to join Daniel Steep as he introduces families to the magical world of farming in Canada.

“The Agri-Magic show is an educational, high energy and interactive magic show dedicated to creating a positive image of the Canadian Farmer,” Lychowyd said.

Lychowyd added that the magician will be demonstrating the importance of agriculture in our communities and how they are affected by it.

Advance tickets go on sale at all Metro stores starting July 6. Tickets for rides are $20. Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for children and children under four get in for free.

The CLE grounds will remain smoke-free this year.
