Rainy River pedestrian killed after being struck by train

(Fort Frances, ON) The Rainy River District Detachment Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in conjunction with Canadian National Railway Police (CNR) are currently investigating a pedestrian fatality involving a train.

At 3:42 a.m. on July 17th, 2016, the Rainy River District OPP responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a train in the Town of Rainy River.

The OPP, CN Police, emergency services attended the scene. The investigation confirmed that one male, 38 year old John George KING of Lake of the Woods Township, was deceased at the scene.
