THUNDER BAY - The Pokemon Go craze is drawing hundreds people to city parks at all hours, day and night, but it has also led to some stern warnings from police and security staff, about breaking city bylaws.

All city parks have a curfew from 11 p.m. in the evening until 6 a.m.  Anyone in the park after 11 could get a warning or a fine.

This poses a problem for Pokemon GO players who want to catch 'em all at all hours of the night.

City engineering director Kayla Dixon said there have been no warnings or fines handed out yet by city bylaw officers.

According to members of the Pokemon Facebook page, city police and security officials have been ordering Pokemon players to leave city parks late at night.

Dixon said the bylaw is in place mainly for the safety of anyone in the parks after dark.

She added that a City Bylaw officer can only administer a fine for a noise violation, however, the same cannot be said for City Police.

She adds that those playing peacefully and quietly will most likely not be targeted, and said she is glad more people are out enjoying city parks.
