(KENORA, ON) Members of the Kenora OPP with assistance from the Northwest Region Crime Unit, the Kenora Forensic Identification Unit and the Northwest Region Emergency Response Team have arrested a 40 year old man and a 25 year old woman for arson following a fire in the Clearwater Bay area.
On Thursday July 21, 2016 at around 8:30 am police received a call of a cottage on fire in the Clearwater Bay area. Police attended with fire and emergency crews and found the cottage fully engulfed in flames.
Two suspects were located in the area and the investigation led to their arrests for Arson and Break and Enter.
The female was transported by ambulance to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Both subjects remain in custody for a bail hearing on July 22 and the investigation is continuing.
The Office of the Fire Marshal has been notified and will attend the area to conduct an investigation.
